Elective posting

No column for elective posting in the Clinical section?

I understand that UMS has a few MOUs with some overseas universities. And if you decide to apply to the university with a MOU with UMS, you don't need to pay. Can we suggest to the school to sign more MOUs with more universities? Just imagine, there are at least 5 going to Sydney and at least 5 going to UK. If UMS has MOU with those universities, just imagine how much it could benefit the students. I reckon it's time the Students' Affairs Department or Elective Posting Department do something, for once, for the students.

  2. Ya, we can create a page for that.

I think we have to first find out which are the universities abroad that have MoU with UMS. Then we generate a list of universities with MoU. This will help the students who are not so well-off to know which university to apply.

But I don't think that we can ask our university to sign MoU with the university of our choice, as this is not so simple as we think. Anyway, we can still suggest this to the Elective Co-ordinator, Dr Basim.

  3. yeah, we can't ask UMS to specifically sign MOU with the uni that we want of course. And it's too late to do that anyway. Just maybe SPU can survey which are the popular unis that students always choose for electives, then maybe they can consider signing an MOU with those and after they have MOU with those, the students should be informed. None of us know for sure which unis have MOU with ours. And a few of us have asked Prof Zainal for the list and also other clerks in charge of electives but we have yet to be given the list.

Whatever it is, think it'd be good if we can have a feedback session for elective posting. The juniors could really benefit from a better-organized and better-informed Elective Posting 'Department'.
